The day on Skomer was outstanding - a small group meant that you had plenty of one to one tuition. I had been on a digital photography course at Pembrokeshire college, this day with Andy really built on what I had learned there. Especially useful was learning again how to use manual settings effectively, we concentrated on Av Aperture priority, and the use of the histograms to aid in reviewing shots with the use of exposure compensation to reduce or increase brightness according to what the histogram showed.

Andy is an excellent teacher, and the day allows access to the Warden's house for reviewing pictures and a place to eat your lunch. My only disappointment was that I went too late in the season for the puffins - I'll be going again next Spring!
