The day at Stackpole NNR started with Andy describing his approach to creative photography and included the principles of using aperture priority to control depth of field. Trial shots were evaluated on the camera to look at composition of the image and to check for correct exposure.
Apart from some brief sunny intervals there was mainly heavy cloud that produced flat soft lighting which can be good for photographing wild flowers.

There were plenty of orchids -common spotted, pyramidal and southern marsh as well as the tiny delicate flowers of restharrow and centaury.
The time outdoors went quickly with Andy's encouraging comments. He would point out subjects and camera angles that were not obvious at first. Thanks for an enjoyable day.
Best wishes,
