My second Workshop with Andy, this time I had been using the camera a lot and something has definitely sunk in! Andy's style of 'teaching' is relaxed and he goes at the pace of the slowest in the group which is usually me as I can't find the correct button to alter settings, but Andy takes all that in his stride.
Skomer was so beautiful at this time of the year with carpets of red campion and "proper" bluebells which smelt divine. The puffins were fabulous and are little posers, turning their heads this way and that to enable you to get that perfect shot. The smaller birds like meadow pipits and wheatears were all very confiding and the rabbits are almost like pets!
The fact that you go on the first sailing of the Dale Princess and stay until the last is a bonus when on the Workshop with Andy - definitely something I would recommend to anyone no matter what type of camera they are using, everyone on the Workshop receives the same care, attention and consideration.
After this Workshop I was on holiday in Scotland to try to photograph the birds; the weather was damp and most days were overcast, but with Andy's words ringing in my ears I got some super shots which I would never have done if I hadn't been on the course. I look forward to returning to Skomer again next year.
